Become Indispensable: Online Meetings in the age of AI!

We’ve had meeting transcription for a while, but with the advent of AI tools in our virtual meetings, I’ve changed the way I lead and talk through my meetings a bit.

Meeting Outcomes: I want to be sure when I get the AI Summary and action items that I am getting the important items I choose – not the things that AI has decided is important (or hallucinated).

So now I use very deliberate terms/phrases:

* To restate: the current requirement is to ‘XYZ’, correct?
* We have some options we’ve discussed for solutions including 1-2-3
* The pain points I am hearing are <restates pain points>
* Action items include <action item> for <person> due <date>
* Next steps are <insert next steps here>

When I use these – I get better results with the AI Summary. It also helps to format things so that I can pull out things in a nice orderly fashion – I can quickly get to the requirements or action items when I need them.

When you don’t do this – you risk the AI tool coming up with their own requirements and solutions and action items based on things others are saying. Which might or might not be accurate. This keeps ME in the driver’s seat of the outcomes!

What are you doing differently in online meetings to assist the AI tool?
