Demolished It!

TMan loves a challenge. At school they have an Accelerated Reading (AR) program where they award students who read and take tests on books. The awards are for the most words read in the class/grade/school each 6 weeks and at the end of the year.

TMan decided in October that he wanted to win big. He wants to win the most words in the school for the year. Keep in mind he is in 3rd grade. He loves all things fantasy and decided to tackle the Harry Potter series.

If you know the series, you know the books get harder as they go – the first book is categorized as a 5.5 level book (best for someone in the 5th grade 5th month). The go up to a 7.2 (7th grade, 2nd month) level.

He started in late October, and last night he finished the 7th and final book with the exclamation, “Demolished it!”

1,123,355 words in the series!

Way to go TMan Potter! Now….what series to start next? Percy Jackson, maybe?
