Keep Calm ‘Til The Meds Kick In

Oye…Mornings!

Wake TMan up early to give him his meds and let him sleep some more.

Time to get dressed involves arguments, cajoling, threatening loss of video game time and more!

TMan spends the first 45 minutes awake making noises. It almost sounds like he is doing vocal warm-ups – and it’s constant, a soundtrack to our mornings. He also repeats words in sing-songy little tunes.

Asking him to be quiet or stop just frustrates him more. It’s like he has this internal NEED to make the noises. Like the revving of his little engine!

It quiets down as we start to get in the car to head to school.

In the car T’s little brother Clown starts making noises.

TMan sits quietly for a few minutes and says, “Can you stop that? It’s annoying!”

Ahhhh….the meds have officially kicked in!

This cracks me up. I swear I do the same thing. I just wait. I have stopped even asking for him to hurry up or get ready, I just wait until the little switch clicks and he starts doing it on his own.
